Committees – Get Involved, Make an Impact
Be more than a member—be a leader. NUCA of Utah offers four active committees where you can share your expertise, grow your network, and help shape the future of our association. Open to all members in good standing, joining a committee is your opportunity to get involved, make connections, and make a difference. Government & Industry Relations Committee
“Your voice in shaping laws, policies, and industry standards.”

Develops NUCA of Utah’s policy positions and coordinates action on legislative and regulatory issues at the local, state, and federal levels. Builds strong relationships with government officials, industry partners, and key allies—including contractors, suppliers, utilities, engineers, labor, students, and the public. Leads industry promotion and community outreach efforts.

Membership Committee
“Growing our community, one connection at a time.”

Drives the chapter’s growth and engagement by leading recruitment, retention, and renewal efforts. Identifies and welcomes new members—including contractors, associates, specialty firms, and institutions—while developing valuable benefits and services to support and strengthen the entire membership.

Safety, Compliance, & Training Committee
“Protecting workers, promoting best practices, and raising the bar for safety.”

Promotes safety and regulatory compliance across Utah’s utility construction industry. Reviews industry practices, develops training programs and resources, and fosters a strong culture of safety and awareness. Identifies emerging safety, health, and risk management issues, recommending proactive solutions to prevent damages and reduce contractor liability.

Scholarship Committee
“Investing in the next generation of the underground utility workforce.”

Supports trade school, undergraduate, and graduate students by awarding scholarships funded through the NUCA of Utah Board of Directors. The committee oversees the application process, selection, and overall coordination of the program to help invest in the next generation of leaders.
